Language Practice: compound words

Language Level: Basic, Intermediate, Advanced

Age group: 10 and older

Time: 20-30 minutes


Materials Needed:

  1. materials depend on the words chosen by the players

Procedures:

  1. Class is divided into two groups/teams.
  2. Each group/team chooses a compound word (football, bathroom, afternoon, milkshake). The difficulty of the word will depend on the language skills of the students.
  3. Each group/team prepares three skits. Two skits will show/explain the two parts of the compound word, and the third skit will show the whole word.
  4. The goal of the opposite team is to guess the compound word.
